The Flynn Slidestore bed is an affordable option perfect for a kids bedroom, this bed comes with sliding storage. The Flynn mattress includes 13.5 gauge spring with 5oz fillings above and below the springs and a deep quilted stitchbond mattress top. The sliding storage is perfect for clothing, bed linen or even toys, optimizing storage in your child's bedroom. *Note: Underbed storage should not be used for heavy items to avoid any chance of collapsing. Some of the qualities of this mattress include:
• Open Coil: An open coil mattress has a spring support system of hundreds of interconnected springs joined together to make a spring bed. The interconnected springs perform as a single system, rather than each spring operating independently like with pocket springs. They have a more traditional feel than a pocket sprung mattress and can have a firmer feel for those who prefer it. Whilst not as supportive as pocket springs, open coil mattresses provide the same comfort level and are more common within standard mattresses.
• Foam Fillings: Foam Fillings are common in many mattresses. Foam provides the firmness a mattress requires, providing the traditional feel. It enhances the comfort of the mattress and provides support. Foam encases spring fillings to prevent any springs from providing discomfort throughout the night. Foam tends to be quite breathable as well, keeping your bed feeling fresher for longer.
• Insulator Pad Layer: A mattress spring insulator helps bridge the gap between the pocket spring ‘support’ layer and the softer upholstery ‘comfort layers’. It prevents fibres migrating between pocket springs and helps to soften the transition between the firmer spring support and softer upholstery layers, as well as providing a consistent surface between springs and the other fibres above it.
• Micro-Quilted: Micro-Quilted mattresses provide a sleeping surface with a much smoother and even finish. This is possible because the mattress either doesn’t require tufts or its design allows the tufts to be hidden. Quilted mattresses are no problem for open coil spring systems as the tufts aren’t needed due to the spring system being one complete unit.
• Side Stitching: To help pro-long the life of the mattress, it is crafted as a turnable mattress and comes with side stitched borders that provide edge to edge support, preventing the sides of your mattress from sagging and keeping you feeling supported and comfortable in your bed.
• Edge-to-Edge Support: Edge support is the amount of resistance a mattress provides around the edges. More edge support means less sagging and falling towards the edge. Edge support provides stable support to sit on the side of the bed, which is important for those with hip or joint pain or have a hard time getting up from a low position. Edge support is most common in mattresses that have coils with side support systems or foam mattresses that have extra foam structure on the sides.
