The Thetford 4000 is a no-turn traditionally made mattress featuring a main unit of 1000 pocket springs with two additional tablet layers set amongst luxury fillings, including wool and lambswool. Latex completed the sleeping side for a quality sleep experience. It's been upholstered in an inherent FR treatment free damask fabric, which has been hand-tufted. The mattress provides handles for easy movement and features side-stitching and vents for support and airflow. This is a medium to firm mattress, suitable for those who enjoy a more traditional, solid feel.

Some of the qualities of this mattress include:
• Pocket Springs: This mattress contains pocket springs. Pocket springs are individually wrapped springs that move together independently of each other, yielding to where pressure is most exerted and isolating movement, which differs from traditional open coil mattresses. Pocket springs are particularly great for providing pressure point relief as you sleep, dispelling any discomfort throughout the night and allowing for a deeper and more restful sleep. Additionally, they provide excellent support – ideal for those who require extra spinal support during the night.
• Latex: Latex Foam mattresses are crafted from liquid rubber, whipped up to form a bouncy foam material. These mattresses ensure an even distribution of firmness, which can be ideal for extra body support for orthopaedic healing. Latex foam is superior for edge support because the foam structure is resilient against deformation and isolates load to the first few centimetres. Latex foam is also an eco-friendlier option for mattress foam.
• Natural Fillings: Natural Fillings, such as silk, cashmere or wool are ideal for several reasons. Not only for the feel of the fillings but for the warmth and comfort. Natural fillings are also a better environmental choice for mattresses as they can decompose quicker at the end of your mattress life. Natural fillings are breathable too, which helps to keep your mattress feeling fresher for longer. Natural fillings also tend to be budget friendly, hypo-allergenic and chemical free (NB: not all natural fillings are chemical free).
• Hypo-Allergenic: Hypo-Allergenic mattresses tend to be filled with natural fillings, which help to fight against dust-mites, allergens and more. They can help dispel any allergy flare-ups throughout the night and tend to be mostly chemical free. Additionally, they can provide a more breathable sleeping surface, helping to keep your mattress feeling fresher for longer. (NB: not all hypo-allergenic mattresses are chemical free).
• Damask Fabric: This is a woven fabric that will be on the majority of mattresses. It has become generally termed ‘Belgian damask’, even though many of the damask fabrics described are made outside of Belgium. Damask is soft to the touch, breathable and is flexible for the sleeper, meaning the upholstery fibres underneath can do their job and you get the highest level of comfort.
• Hand-Tufted: A hand-tufted mattress can provide a firmer feel than a traditional quilted mattress. Tufts are often used to help keep mattress fillings together, helping to keep your mattress shape for longer and are particularly useful in pocket sprung mattresses. Better quality tufts actually have their hard plastic ends very well protected by felt or wool pompoms, meaning that the most people won’t be able to feel their presence.
• Edge Support: Edge support is the amount of resistance a mattress provides around the edges. More edge support means less sagging and falling towards the edge. Edge support provides stable support to sit on the side of the bed, which is important for those with hip or joint pain or have a hard time getting up from a low position. Edge support is most common in mattresses that have coils with side support systems or foam mattresses that have extra foam structure on the sides.
• Side-Stitching:To help pro-long the life of the mattress, it is crafted as a turnable mattress and comes with side stitched borders that provide edge to edge support, preventing the sides of your mattress from sagging and keeping you feeling supported and comfortable in your bed.

TWO DRAWER DIVAN
This platform divan base provides a sturdy, reliable base for the mattress, constfucted from solid and strong materials and timber wood for a robust and strong structure that adds durability. It creates a comfortable sleeping surface that prevents motion disturbance throughout the night. You can choose between wooden legs or chrome gliders for ease of movement when required, whilst protecting your wooden flooring from scratches or damage. The base has been upholstered in high quality fabric that can be ordered in a colour and texture of your choice by using the options above, meaning you can choose the bed that suits your space the most. The matching headboard can be added using the options above, though alternatively you can find the full range of headboard styles by clicking here. This base comes with TWO DRAWERS but a non drawer, four drawer or ottoman base is available elsewhere on our website. This divan base is delivered in two halves.
