Our always popular Marathon Memory Divan Set is both budget-friendly and high quality, providing everything you need for a great price. It comes with a divan base with the option to add drawers (see above for option to add drawers and placement of drawers), a headboard and a comfortable mattress. The mattress comes with a 13g bonnell spring unit for a traditional, firmer feel and a layer of luxurious memory foam for healthier circulation and pressure point relief, as well as generous layers of other fillings, wrapped in a knitted fabric for an extra cosy feeling.

Some of the qualities of the mattress include:
• Bonnell Springs: An open coil mattress has a spring support system of hundreds of interconnected springs joined together to make a spring bed. The interconnected springs perform as a single system, rather than each spring operating independently like with pocket springs. They have a more traditional feel than a pocket sprung mattress and can have a firmer feel for those who prefer it. Whilst not as supportive as pocket springs, open coil mattresses provide the same comfort level and are more common within standard mattresses.
• Memory Foam: Memory Foam is a type of foam that springs back to its original shape – even after long periods of use. Memory foam moulds to the natural counters of your body and provides excellent zonal support and pressure point relief. It can help with blood circulation throughout the night, allowing you to achieve a deeper and more restful sleep.
• Foam Fillings: Foam Fillings are common in many mattresses. Foam provides the firmness a mattress requires, providing the traditional feel. It enhances the comfort of the mattress and provides support. Foam encases spring fillings to prevent any springs from providing discomfort throughout the night. Foam tends to be quite breathable as well, keeping your bed feeling fresher for longer.
• Soft-Knit Fabric: The fabric that wraps around the mattress can be just as important as the fillings. This mattress has been wrapped in luxuriously soft fabric that enhances the comfort of the mattress. Fabric around mattresses tends to be breathable and helps to keep your mattress feeling fresh and provides a more comfortable sleeping space during the night. It’s also incredibly hard-wearing and can provide that “new” look for longer.
• Hand-Tufted: A hand-tufted mattress can provide a firmer feel than a traditional quilted mattress. Tufts are often used to help keep mattress fillings together, helping to keep your mattress shape for longer and are particularly useful in pocket sprung mattresses. Better quality tufts actually have their hard plastic ends very well protected by felt or wool pompoms, meaning that the most people won’t be able to feel their presence.
• Edge Support: Edge support is the amount of resistance a mattress provides around the edges. More edge support means less sagging and falling towards the edge. Edge support provides stable support to sit on the side of the bed, which is important for those with hip or joint pain or have a hard time getting up from a low position. Edge support is most common in mattresses that have coils with side support systems or foam mattresses that have extra foam structure on the sides.

Divan Base:
This divan base comes delivered in TWO HALVES and has been constructed from hard-wearing and reliable materials for longevity and durability. The divan base rests on chrome gliders to protect your flooring whilst keeping the divan base easy to move if required. The base is wrapped in a soft velvet fabric for a luxurious feel, available in four different colours (please call our office for inquiries about colours and fabrics). The fabric is high quality and hard-wearing and will blend seamlessly into any surrounding. Above, you have the option to add two or four storage drawers to the base, ideal for storing clothing, blankets, linen and more. The headboard pictured comes included in the price and will come upholstered in the same fabric as you chose for your base and it is a strutted 20" headboard.
