Some of the qualities of the mattress include:
• Pocket Springs: This mattress contains pocket springs. Pocket springs are individually wrapped springs that move together independently of each other, yielding to where pressure is most exerted and isolating movement, which differs from traditional open coil mattresses. Pocket springs are particularly great for providing pressure point relief as you sleep, dispelling any discomfort throughout the night and allowing for a deeper and more restful sleep. Additionally, they provide excellent support – ideal for those who require extra spinal support during the night.
• Gel-Infused Foam: Gel is a great option for those who struggle with over-heating during the night. The gel could be in the form of gel beads, gel particles, gel layers, thermal gel, or phase-changing gel (a type of gel that changes from solid to liquid when it detects body heat) – so that the user can stay cool at night. It helps to regulate temperature and provide a cooler and more pleasant sleeping space. Similar to memory foam and latex foam, gel mattresses also spring back to shape quickly after weight and pressure are removed.
• Soft Touch Fabric: The fabric that wraps around the mattress can be just as important as the fillings. This mattress has been wrapped in luxuriously soft fabric that enhances the comfort of the mattress. Fabric around mattresses tends to be breathable and helps to keep your mattress feeling fresh and provides a more comfortable sleeping space during the night. • Micro-Quilted: Micro-Quilted mattresses provide a sleeping surface with a much smoother and even finish. This is possible because the mattress either doesn’t require tufts or its design allows the tufts to be hidden. Quilted mattresses are no problem for open coil spring systems as the tufts aren’t needed due to the spring system being one complete unit.
• Pillow-Top: A pillow top is an extra layer of fillings over the initial mattress surface. They can contain any of the additional fillings found in a standard mattress. They provide extra comfort and helps to distribute and support your weight evenly. It does not retain heat, a particularly great advantage for those who struggle with feeling too hot during the night. They are an inexpensive way to achieve the luxury mattress look and feel.
• Edge Support: Edge support is the amount of resistance a mattress provides around the edges. More edge support means less sagging and falling towards the edge. Edge support provides stable support to sit on the side of the bed, which is important for those with hip or joint pain or have a hard time getting up from a low position. Edge support is most common in mattresses that have coils with side support systems or foam mattresses that have extra foam structure on the sides.
