Some of the qualities of this mattress include:
• Pocket Springs: This mattress contains pocket springs. Pocket springs are individually wrapped springs that move together independently of each other, yielding to where pressure is most exerted and isolating movement, which differs from traditional open coil mattresses. Pocket springs are particularly great for providing pressure point relief as you sleep, dispelling any discomfort throughout the night and allowing for a deeper and more restful sleep. Additionally, they provide excellent support – ideal for those who require extra spinal support during the night.
• MiraCoil Spring System: The Miracoil spring has been developed by Silentnight and is solely used in their mattress and bed ranges. Due to their unique shape, the Mirocoil spring can be housed in a standard mattress twice as many times as a normal open coil spring, which means a more responsive and supportive mattress. Also, with such a high spring count, the Geltex Pocket 2000 mattress offers amazing zoned support. More pressure is applied to a particular area of the mattress, which makes it more responsive and targets pressure points on the body and helps with spinal alignment. Additionally, this also means there is no "roll together" effect, significantly reducing motion transfer to allow for a more restful night's sleep.
• Geltex Comfort Layer: The advanced Geltex infused comfort layer is full of benefits to provide a highly comfortable sleeping environment. As a pressure relieving product Geltex will move as you move promoting even weight distribution and pressure relief, soothing any aches. Being highly elastic and flexible Geltex will encourage easy movement through the night for less disturbance and an open celled structure increases airflow, avoiding over heating for a more tranquil sleep.
• Hand-Tufted: A hand-tufted mattress can provide a firmer feel than a traditional quilted mattress. Tufts are often used to help keep mattress fillings together, helping to keep your mattress shape for longer and are particularly useful in pocket sprung mattresses. Better quality tufts actually have their hard plastic ends very well protected by felt or wool pompoms, meaning that the most people won’t be able to feel their presence.
• Pillow-Top: A pillow top is an extra layer of fillings over the initial mattress surface. They can contain any of the additional fillings found in a standard mattress. They provide extra comfort and helps to distribute and support your weight evenly. It does not retain heat, a particularly great advantage for those who struggle with feeling too hot during the night. They are an inexpensive way to achieve the luxury mattress look and feel.
• Soft Touch Fabric: The fabric that wraps around the mattress can be just as important as the fillings. This mattress has been wrapped in luxuriously soft fabric that enhances the comfort of the mattress. Fabric around mattresses tends to be breathable and helps to keep your mattress feeling fresh and provides a more comfortable sleeping space during the night. It’s also incredibly hard-wearing and can provide that “new” look for longer.
• Edge Support: Edge support is the amount of resistance a mattress provides around the edges. More edge support means less sagging and falling towards the edge. Edge support provides stable support to sit on the side of the bed, which is important for those with hip or joint pain or have a hard time getting up from a low position. Edge support is most common in mattresses that have coils with side support systems or foam mattresses that have extra foam structure on the sides.

This bed comes as a standard divan bed. The base is constructed from solid and sturdy materials for a reliable and durable performance throughout the year, sitting upon chrome gliders to provide easy movement across the floor when required whilst minimizing damage done to the floor. It's available in a choice of nine stunning colours, which you can choose using the options above. This base comes with two drawers for extra storage, positioned two on one side of the single size and one on each side at the bottom of any other size. A non drawer or four drawer version is available elsewhere on our website. This price DOES NOT INCLUDE A HEADBOARD, but you can find a large range of other Silentnight headboards in our Headboard Section., including the headboard pictured above. If you want the headboard fabric to match the divan base fabric, you can do so when adding the headboard to your cart. Please ensure you have selected the correct colour before purchase.
