The Lyra mattress has a medium comfort level, which is ideal for people who love extra spinal support as they sleep but it still provides a luxurious feel and comfort to keep you sleeping soundly.

Some of the qualities of this mattress include:
• Pocket Springs: This mattress contains pocket springs. Pocket springs are individually wrapped springs that move together independently of each other, yielding to where pressure is most exerted and isolating movement, which differs from traditional open coil mattresses. Pocket springs are particularly great for providing pressure point relief as you sleep, dispelling any discomfort throughout the night and allowing for a deeper and more restful sleep. Additionally, they provide excellent support – ideal for those who require extra spinal support during the night.
• MiraCoil Spring System: The Miracoil spring has been developed by Silentnight and is solely used in their mattress and bed ranges. Due to their unique shape, the Mirocoil spring can be housed in a standard mattress twice as many times as a normal open coil spring, which means a more responsive and supportive mattress. Also, with such a high spring count, the mattress offers amazing zoned support. More pressure is applied to a particular area of the mattress, which makes it more responsive and targets pressure points on the body and helps with spinal alignment. Additionally, this also means there is no "roll together" effect, significantly reducing motion transfer to allow for a more restful night's sleep.
• Memory Foam: Memory Foam is a type of foam that springs back to its original shape – even after long periods of use. Memory foam moulds to the natural counters of your body and provides excellent zonal support and pressure point relief. It can help with blood circulation throughout the night, allowing you to achieve a deeper and more restful sleep.
• Micro-Quilted: Micro-Quilted mattresses provide a sleeping surface with a much smoother and even finish. This is possible because the mattress either doesn’t require tufts or its design allows the tufts to be hidden. Quilted mattresses are no problem for open coil spring systems as the tufts aren’t needed due to the spring system being one complete unit.
• Soft Touch Fabric: The fabric that wraps around the mattress can be just as important as the fillings. This mattress has been wrapped in luxuriously soft fabric that enhances the comfort of the mattress. Fabric around mattresses tends to be breathable and helps to keep your mattress feeling fresh and provides a more comfortable sleeping space during the night. It’s also incredibly hard-wearing and can provide that “new” look for longer.
• Edge Support: Edge support is the amount of resistance a mattress provides around the edges. More edge support means less sagging and falling towards the edge. Edge support provides stable support to sit on the side of the bed, which is important for those with hip or joint pain or have a hard time getting up from a low position. Edge support is most common in mattresses that have coils with side support systems or foam mattresses that have extra foam structure on the sides.

This bed comes as a standard divan bed. The base is constructed from solid and sturdy materials for a reliable and durable performance throughout the year, sitting upon chrome gliders to provide easy movement across the floor when required whilst minimizing damage done to the floor. It's available in a choice of nine stunning colours, which you can choose using the options above. This base comes with two drawers for extra storage, positioned two on one side of the single size and one on each side at the bottom of any other size. A non drawer or four drawer version is available elsewhere on our website. This price DOES NOT INCLUDE A HEADBOARD, but you can find a large range of other Silentnight headboards in our Headboard Section., including the headboard pictured above. If you want the headboard fabric to match the divan base fabric, you can do so when adding the headboard to your cart. Please ensure you have selected the correct colour before purchase.
